Kart Racing League

KRL (Kart Racing League) is a Sonic-inspired universe where anyone can earn tokens through skilled gameplay and contributions to the ecosystem. Players can race one another in an online multiplayer format and collect, trade, and evolve their playable NFT characters.

Combining the best elements of electrifying arcade and fast-paced competitive style kart racing, Kart Racing League lets players face-off online in intense multiplayer racing, across brilliant tracks, collecting power-ups and speed boosts along the way.
The key difference between KRL and a traditional kart racing game is that Blockchain economic design is used to reward our players for their contributions to the ecosystem. This new model of gaming has been dubbed "play to earn."

Players can earn by:
Competing in online multiplayer races to win leaderboard prizes.
Evolving characters and selling them on the marketplace.
Collecting and speculating on the best performing characters based on their randomly assigned attribute set.
Farming for the Essence of Creation (EoC) that are needed to evolve characters. These can be sold on exchanges such as Uniswap and Sushiswap.

Players can earn a governance token, KRL, which represents a real slice of the game universe as it has governance rights and fee sharing built into it. Since players can earn this token by playing, a Ready Player One type quest emerges where players can actually earn part of the universe. However, these quests are not winner takes all: instead, each rewards players based on their effort and skill.

Players compete online in kart races, controlling one of a selection of characters available for purchase as NFTs from the marketplace.

Race Overview:

Up to eight characters will compete in each race. The racers will complete a series of laps (the number of which varies depending on which race track is being used).
Players are able to use power up items to help finish the race faster, or to slow down their competitors. Up to three power-ups can be stored at a time.
Players will be able to drop and swap power-ups easily, and they will pick them up by driving over them with their vehicle.
The first player to finish all the laps and cross the finish line will be the winner, but the second- and third-place finishers also earn their share of rewards.

Earnings for the Winners:

The Racers that finish in top three places each earn a proportional share of the race prize pool.

In higher ranked games, the prize pools are larger. The size of the pool depends on how highly-ranked you are in each season.

Note: Earnings are limited to 10 wins per day per NFT. You may complete as many races as you'd like each day, but after you win 10 races, then you can no longer earn $EOC until the following day.

Available Power-Ups:

There will be four power-ups that the players can use to help themselves (or hurt others). These power-ups are:
Repair -- to repair the health of your vehicle
Guard -- to shield yourself from others temporarily
Missile -- to shoot a missile at your opponents
Turbo -- to boost your speed temporarily
